YFZ450R SE is motor-ready. The William frame is made of lightweight aluminum, with a clamp-steel floor frame that allows the engine to sit deeper for excellent mass centralization. Suspension components and settings reduce weight while lightweight, sharp handling and driver comfort.

In an all-around drag race, the bigger bore Raptor is 700 faster. The faster prop YFZ-R will come out of the hole faster, but the massive torque and higher gearing of the 700 will slowly move away from the race-ready 450. When it comes to climbing the biggest hills, the Raptor offers a similar advantage. China Wall, Glamis ‘ largest and steepest dune, was chosen for comparison. With a small enema and a competent rider, both machines were able to conquer the animal with ease.

The Raptor, however, was able to start right at the base, while the YFZ-R needed a small extra run with him. Climbing “The Wall ” also required a bit more clutch work on the 450, while the 700 could haul it up to third and fourth. Whoever missed a shift and had to cancel his ascent was the machine you wanted to stand on with the YFZ-R. The less oblique, wider YFZ-R platform proved much easier to whip around on a steep dune wall than the larger Skinnier Raptor. For both machines, the performance is great. The tougher YFZ-R performance curve is very easy to drive aggressively, but the big torque and super-smooth power curve at the Raptor definitely make it easy to drive. As for the overall beam or the “tuning,” we noticed a slight sip from below on the YFZ-R, but the Raptor developed flawlessly throughout the curve. Stricter emissions standards have called for leaner and leaner fuel imaging. The Raptor seemed unbearded, but we noticed it on the YFZ-R. It showed a slightly slender state at basically zero height, but it will undoubtedly be less noticeable or disappear at higher altitudes.
